It’s been a while in the time out series on this blog. So today, against all odds, I ended up at the Agodi Botanical Gardens in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. I read about Agodi Gardens online and decided to visit the place.

I had high expectations of a serene experience based on the pictures I saw online. I won’t use the word disappointed. Let’s just say my expectations were not met.

However, I tried to have a bit of fun regardless. I learnt how to use the hoverboard and actually enjoyed it. I came to the conclusion that it was a mind control exercise πŸ˜‚. My hoverboard instructor said no, that it was the control of the feet. I did not agree but ended the back and forth by telling him it was the mind (or should I say the brain?) giving instructions to the feet. I still think getting the hoverboard to move, stop, turn around or spin in a circle (I learnt how to do all of these today) is a mind control exercise. πŸ˜ƒ

I also rode the Governor. Talking about the horse. What were you thinking? 😜

Agog for another visit to Agodi Gardens? If you were in my shoes, what would your answer be?

Love to hear from you in the comment section.

  1. Formerly called Agodi Zoological and Botanical Gardens, Agodi Gardens was created in 1967. The garden was destroyed by the Ogunpa flood disaster in 1980 as most of the animals were swept away by the raging water. The garden was renovated in 2012 by the Oyo State Government and the new Agodi Gardens was reopened in 2014.
