Challenges abound in life. I have had my fair share of them. However, it has been my experience that whenever I am tired of doing my own thing and I allow the bread of life to step in and take control of that situation, the situation takes a “V” turn (not a “U”turn) for the best. Emphasis on “allow”. Why? It is your sole responsibility to let Him in. You have to see the futility in trying to help yourself or in trusting in the arm of flesh for help. Just take a step back and let Him take charge today, okay?
In the bible, John 6:35 to be precise, Jesus said “I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.”
Hunger and thirst mean different things to all of us. However, they signify lack. For every lack in your life, Jesus is saying “I am the bread of life: come to me and you will never be hungry; believe in me and you will never be thirsty.”
Hmmm. But you have to do the work of God first. What is the work of God? Jesus said in John 6:29 “This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” Wow! The work of God to be done is to BELIEVE on him whom God has sent: Jesus. It is that simple. Just believe.
At this point, to the believer who due to one challenge or the other has stopped believing that Jesus is able to meet every lack in his or her life, I say to you, believe again. Take your gaze off of that challenge and focus it on Jesus. Disregard every contrary factor, forget about what people have said to the effect that it is not possible and focus on Jesus as you believe.
To you, who has for sometime now noticed a void ( a kind of lack) in your life that no relationship, material possession or social status can fill, Jesus says to you, “Come to me.” How do you do that? First, say this prayer: Lord Jesus, I am a sinner and I thank you for taking my place at the cross. I receive all that you did for me at Calvary. I believe that you died for my sins. I ask you to come into my heart today as I believe and confess that you are my Lord and personal savior. Thank you for forgiving me all my sins and saving me. Amen.
If you said this prayer and believed it, you are now a born again christian. Congratulations!!! However, it does not end here. This is the beginning. Find a bible believing church and start attending as soon as possible. Alternatively, you can come to The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) Anthony Oke Bus Stop, Lagos Oworonshoki Expressway, Lagos. My prayer is that the Holy Spirit will direct you to the right place for your spiritual growth in the things of the Lord, in the name of Jesus, amen! Shalom!
