QUICK SNACK

You know when you are in the mood for a snack but at the same time you want the snack to be “mealy”? Well this was one of such times. I wanted to snack on bananas but at the same time I wanted my quick snack to taste like a regular meal. A regular meal should be spicy and rich in taste right?

Rapidly, the following hit my plate: peeled ripe bananas, spicy sauce, fried chevon (goat meat) and spring onions for extra flavor and garnishing. Still salivating as I type because I was pleasantly and yummyliciously surprised 🙂 So what’s the nutritional value of my mealy snack? Let’s see.

Bananas contain potassium, vitamins A, C and B6. The sauce was made with fresh tomatoes, pepper, ginger, onions and of course some seasoning. Tomatoes have fiber and contain potassium as well as vitamins C and K. Peppers have fiber and contain potassium, folic acid and vitamins C and A. Ginger contains vitamins A,C,E and K as well as other minerals like magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, etc. Onions contain vitamins C, B1 and B 6 as well as biotin, manganese, copper etc. Chevon is a rich source of potassium, contains iron, is lower in total and saturated fat and cholesterol than other meats and of course a good source of protein. Spring onions are rich in vitamins C, B2, A and K. They are a good source of potassium, copper, phosphorus, etc. Spring onions are good for cardiovascular health.

Lets just say that just as my taste buds were unbelievably gratified by this quick snack, so was my body!
